Have You Conferenced Yet?

How well do we really know about our web chatting options. I know now, I know nothing at all. There are so many things to be known and different ways of doing them. Working with the Lync software was different for me. It's all just different. I must say, compared to what I did use, its way better. It seems to have more options and a more professional look.

Who's Up to Date with WEB 2.0?

Ellen Degeneres is a well known celebrity. She gives so much to others and makes you laugh in the process. All of the applications I choose are social networking apps.

Ellen has many fans, her twitter followers are 31.5M, her Instagram followers are 5+M. Ellen has a huge fan base and its continuing to rise.

Official Site: http://www.ellentv.com

I would say the targeted audience for Ellen is females, because she is a Cover Girl, and just people in general because she is a comedian and talk show host. I think Ellen is using Web 2.0 very well. She makes sure everything that she does has been on an Instagram, Facebook. She upload her interviews and guests from her talk show to Youtube daily.

What's Known About Cloud Computing?

Learning about cloud computing was interesting. I always thought it was a good thing to have cloud computing, but reading more into it I noticed that it may be safe for documents and things, but business aren't very safe. I have also learned that most cloud computing programs seem to be free, but if you don't have all the accessories or certain things that may be needed for what your doing, cloud computing can seem useless.

Email Knowledge

What do we really know about email and the way we send things? I have learned many things. When sending emails, especially when having conversations through them, I know to be very cautious about things that you send. I feel like I have learned a lot. When receiving email, I know to read whose emails are in the CC: field if any. And because you can't see who is in the Bcc: field, just to be careful. No matter if your being rude, which you shouldn't, or sharing personal information.

Is Wikipedia Really Safe?

A blog is someone's personal journal, diary that can be viewed by the world. It shows the blogger's personal opinions on various things, followed by comments of views and posts of how they feel about the topic being talked about. Blogs are ran by one person, maybe two. They mainly contain posts that all have different links added to it based on the subject. Most blogs are updated daily, weekly, or monthly. Many bloggers show personal information or may ask for the viewers opinion based on the information provided by the blogger.

A wiki is website that has information collaborated into by multiple people who are allowed to create, and modify the website. Unlike blogs, wiki's are normally updated by real time and information can be posted about various things and topics. Viewers who post on wiki's can put any information on the website, no matter if its true or not.

How do you feel about the editing part of wikipedia? I'll tell you, I don't think it's a mutual feeling. I can't say I don't like it, but i also can't say that I do. I would think its a good thing that people can edit and add things as they please simply because a lot of website don't update things as soon as the news is shown. Some websites also seem to stop updating the information after a certain time. Many people don't believe that wikipedia is a valuable source, but I would say its a good way to use as a back up check list for facts, or any information that you feel you may need. I would say that this is also a bad thing because anybody can put things on wikipedia without check the source and facts. I wouldn't say using wikipedia is horrible. In a way it's a reliabled source. No student should go on wikipedia hoping to state facts in a paper, but knowing information about your favorite celebrity, or something like that, why wouldn't that be reliable.

After learning more about wikipedia and watching the Jimmy Wales video, I would say my opinion on wikipedia is completely different. Before having this project, I simply thought wikipedia was open to the public, not monitored, nothing was being done, nor checked if any changes were made. I was wrong and I'm glad that I did learn something. Listening to video, I notice that this website is just the complete opposite of what the world thinks. Wikipedia, not in my opinion, could possibly be a credible source. I say this because it is monitored and there is people keeping up with the changes and deleting process. Learning that there are rules to doing things on wikipedia and people who state the wrong facts and put the wrong information are quickly corrects, I would say that wikipedia needs more credit for what it offers.
